PetQuill aims to publish useful, clear and responsible information for pet owners. This policy sets our editorial standards; it does not claim that every article receives veterinary review or that our writers hold qualifications they have not disclosed.
Research and accuracy
We prioritise relevant primary sources, established animal welfare organisations and qualified expertise where appropriate. Articles should make important sources identifiable, distinguish evidence from opinion and acknowledge meaningful uncertainty. We avoid unsupported health promises and sensational claims.
Expertise and review
Bylines identify the responsible contributor. Professional credentials, specialist review and first-hand experience should be stated only when verified. Health material is educational and should explain when a veterinarian is needed.
Product coverage
We distinguish hands-on testing from research-based coverage. If a product was supplied, a commission may be earned or a commercial relationship influenced access, that relationship should be disclosed clearly. Payment must not buy unsupported claims or a promised positive verdict.
Corrections and updates
Readers can report an error through our Contact Us page, ideally with the article URL and supporting evidence. We assess material corrections, update affected information and explain significant changes when appropriate. Published and modified dates help readers understand the age of an article.
Tools and accountability
Contributors remain responsible for original work, source checking and factual accuracy, including when using automated research or writing tools. Images that illustrate rather than document an event should not be presented as evidence of that event.
